Salon Series

“Each of us possesses five fundamental, enthralling maps to the natural world: sight, touch, taste, hearing, smell. As we unravel the threads that bind us to nature, as denizens of data and artifice, amid crowds and clutter, we become miserly with these loyal and exquisite guides, we numb our sensory intelligence. This failure of attention will make orphans of us all” Meloy

Reaching out into communities near and far, known and yet to be discovered, BAD REP seeks artist civilians, dreamers, empathetic explorers and social activists to teach, inspire, and collaborate with us on this journey.

a piece of human poetry

Inspired by a phrase lifted from a review of Julie Altlas Muz’s performance in “City Girls & Desperadoes” a Pamela Enz play.

Using diverse mediums, including performances of the BAD REP artists, music, dance, and visual art created on the spot with guests we encouraged participants to playfully collaborate with us.

Choosing the expression that most appealed to them, the evening then became a shared soulful exploration of what it meant for each individual personally to transform themselves into ‘a piece of human poetry’.

A special gift to all of us at BAD REP were the many poems pulled from wallets, or previously memorized, that when added to those composed during our event were read out loud and shared.
